Membership

Become a Member

The Business Council of Alberta is a membership-based organization: our members are our funders, direction setters, and active participants.

The Council is a non-partisan, non-profit entity that does not receive funding from any level of government.

Council members are the chief executives and leading entrepreneurs of the province’s most significant enterprises, and proudly represent the majority of Alberta’s private sector investment, job creation, exports, and research and development. Collectively, our members employ over 200,000 Albertans and invest billions in our economy annually.

Becoming a Member

Membership is by invitation and application. It is intentionally restricted to a limited number of top leaders. The Council’s focus is on medium and large businesses, with significant interest in the overall prosperity of the province.

Membership requirements

  • Alberta-focused private sector business
  • Top executive involvement
  • Engaged and active participation

We also consider the diversity of sectors, geographies and perspectives in our membership base.

Our members support and are focused on working together to deliver shared prosperity for Albertans. It is not about how they can profit from membership; it’s about what we can accomplish together for the good of the province.

If you are interested in exploring membership further or filling out an application, please contact our team at membership@businesscouncilab.com

Other ways to get involved

If membership is not right for you, or maybe not right now, there are other ways to get involved and be a supporter.

A limited number of associate members are invited to participate in certain aspects of the Council for organizations who do not meet the express membership criteria.

Contact us at membership@businesscouncilab.com for more information.

Formative

The Council is still forming and seeking to grow representation of all major industries and geographies in the province. We are intentionally growing our membership, seeking to ensure the right mix of a limited number of leaders, and it will take time to reach our full scale.

For this reason, if we haven’t reached out to you yet, it’s not because we don’t think you’re great. Please get in touch with us to learn more.
