PRESENTATION: New Economy LIVE: Transforming Calgary into a LearningCITY

How can Calgary (and Alberta) become a magnet for talent? By building a city (and province) that values life long learning, and building the digital, physical, and social infrastructure to enable Alberta’s talent to grow, learn, and build the right skills to meet the challenges of tomorrow.

BCA’s Chief Economist Mike Holden and Calgary Economic Development Manager, Talent Dexter Lam delivered the feature presentation on building Alberta’s future workforce, the competencies and skills needed for the future, and building an adaptive and learning city (and province) is a winning strategy to ensure our workforce is prepared for future disruption and ready to solve the world’s biggest challenges.

In the spirit of truth, reconciliation, and respect, we honour and acknowledge the lands upon which we live and work as guests, including the traditional territories of the First Nations in Treaties 6, 7, and 8 and the citizens of the Metis Nation of Alberta. We thank the First Peoples of this land, which we now call Alberta, for their generations of stewardship of the land, and we seek to walk together in the spirit of truth and reconciliation to build a shared future for all in Alberta.
